  Candidates - Registering with Us  
 
In order for you to register with us you must follow our registration guidelines. Firstly, we require a copy of your current CV (this should be in the format shown on our website under CV Template). Once we have received your CV, the next step is to be interviewed by a consultant. This will enable us to get to know you and understand your career needs and goals in order to market you with our clients. You will also be required to complete a Candidate Registration form and we will also require any relevant Working Visa details. Once the registration process has been complete you will be sent out a starter pack.

 
Interview Documentation
  There are various documents that you must bring with you to the initial interview in order for Advantage Recruitment to be able to provide you with work.

If you do not have an EU passport then you will be required to bring a copy of your passport and working visa - Advanatage Recruitment are required when supplying staff to an organisation to provide accurate records on the validity of permits and the time span for employment.

Five years worth of written references are essential (please see our referencing section.) They can be a combination of both educational and professional, but they must fully cover the five-years. For those of you coming from overseas your reference will cover the last five years up until your arrival date in the UK or Ireland.

You will also be required to provide certificates detailing your educational and professional qualifications.

  Referencing
  For security reasons our clients have very strict guidelines that Advantage Recruitment must adhere to when submitting references for temporary and contract workers. Below is our referencing procedure which we carry out on behalf of our clients:

  • A candidate's employment history is verified by obtaining both verbal and written references dating back over a 5-year period. If the candidate has not worked for this length of time, school/college references will be required. A minimum of one verbal reference must be obtained before any CV is submitted to our clients.
  • A candidate's educational certificates will be checked and kept on our files. If the candidate is unable to produce verification of qualifications, the relevant examination board is approached.
  • A candidate's passport details are checked and details kept on file to verify the candidates right to work in the UK.
  • Credit checks may be carried out if this is a client requirement
  • A candidate will be asked to sign a declaration verifying that you do not have a criminal record.
Therefore, in order to speed up the recruitment process, we ask you to bring in all necessary references, contacts and certificates to the interview so Advantage Recruitment can speed up the process and help you find a job faster! Please refer to our visa and documentation section to find out exactly what you should bring to the interview.

  Visas
  If you are looking for work in the UK, temping is a route you should consider. It is usually immediate, and it offers you the flexibility of working for an agreed period of time. To qualify for a Working Visa you must:

  • Be a Commonwealth Citizen aged 17-27
  • Be single - if you are married, the person to whom you are married must meet the visa requirements for a working holiday
  • Be able to pay for your return or onward journey
  • Be intending to leave the UK at the end of your working holiday. You can stay for two years from arrival date
  • Have not had a working visa before
  • Have the ability to support yourself - not public funds
If you have UK parents or grandparents, this entitles you to a longer less restricted stay of 4 years, and it can enable you to apply for residency. In this instance you will also become eligible for permanent work. Otherwise a working holiday visa allows you to work one year full-time or two years part-time.

For Advantage Recruitment to be able to assist you in finding temporary or contact employment in the UK you must have applied for and obtained your visa.
